All for it.
As per usual the self interest knee jerk culture has kicked in with the cries that it is all a 'Old Firm' conspiracy.
Get over yourself - no it is not!!!!
The only thing I would bin is the 'Colt' naming convention. They are B teams and the sooner they come about the better.
All across Europe there are B teams - Portugal, Germany (Holland now have them) Jong Ajax?, Austria, Spain to name just a few. These teams are used to develop players, develop talent and give players a proper avenue to showcase themselves.
And it is no co-incidence that these countries are better at football and producing players than Scotland are.
Scotland - 67th in the world in latest rankings??
In Scotland there are lots of teams with big squads and the young players in the squad who are not playing are not even getting a reserve game as its this ridiculous Under 20 Development league idea with all its restrictions.
It is so important for the game that players 17 years + get proper competitive football in a league system weekly.
It is crucial players have a theatre to play football in weekly whether via 'Colt' teams or B / reserve teams.
Swallow your parochial attitudes whatever team you follow, and recognise that the game in Scotland is crying out for change to develop players. Its not about YOU and the TEAM you support it is about the PLAYERS, young lads and football players not getting a game and having a route to play competitive football in instead of this Under 20 farce.
The big teams - Hearts, Hibs, Aberdeen, Celtic, Rangers and Dundee United should all be given help to get these teams teams (B Teams or Colt Teams) into the Lowland League or Highland League (Aberdeen and United).
Funding from the SFA, SPFL and encouragement to set up sustainable teams.
