I really hope that this gathers pace. I'm a Celtic supporter and a season ticket holder for many years but annoyed that Celtic cannot grow and prosper to become the club that every Celtic fan knows that it could become. Celtic, like every big club from the smaller leagues in Europe are being held back from competing against the big boys from the top 5 leagues because of a lack of TV cash. Getting into a Euro cross border league against the likes of Ajax, PSV Eindhoven, Feyenoord, FC Brugge, Anderlecht, FC Copenhagen, etc would help bridge that gap.
What a league it would also be with loads of big clubs instead of just 2 or 3 which most leagues have, even the top ones.
I would hope that perhaps the Portuguese and maybe Austrians would also come aboard ?
I would also hope that the top 14/16 Scottish clubs would also be involved in a 4 division Euro league structure. As would the top 14/16 clubs from the other Euro nations. Also there would be promotion & relegation through the leagues. The clubs not involved in the Euro league could get access through a pyramid system so that the whole of Scottish football could get a fresh shot in the arm and a whole new impetus to the whole Scottish game. Even better would if the top 8 places were given access to the Champions league.
Let's get this started.
